F-5: Number of international, regional and bilateral programmes and initiatives for the transfer and exchange of science, technology and innovation in disaster risk reduction for developing countries

The Global Alliance of Disaster Research Institutes (GADRI) aims to form a collaborative platform for research and knowledge sharing across DRR and resilience. GADRI organizes its biennial GADRI Global Summit, bringing together its members to present, discuss, report, and evaluate the research being conducted across the network.

The ``Establishment of the Matsuyama City Disaster Prevention Education Promotion Council'' started in May 2019, and it is continuing to work on developing and fostering disaster prevention leaders in Matsuyama City, including within industry, government, academia, and citizens.

National drought monitors were built using routines that calculate a weighted mixed indicator from drought indices for Western South America countries: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Chile. The analysis of the spatially integrated monitors and drought impacts are published on a monthly bulletin.

Methodology for implementing Early Warning Systems (EWS) for floods in binational basins, promoting risk reduction through monitoring, community participation, and strategic planning.

We are a working group under the International Organization for Standardization’s ISO TC 268 SC1 Smart Community Infrastructure. Our working group focuses on the standardization of smart community infrastructure which could strengthen community resiliency against potential disasters.

Representatives of Makati City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) organized a study visit to Japan to explore new ideas, technology and management structure of public disaster education facilities in Kobe, Osaka, and Sakai cities.

A delegation from Seoul led by the CityNet Secretariat visited Kobe and its surrounding cities for benchmarking good practices on disaster risk reduction and crisis management as Seoul prepares to enhance its resilience to counter new challenges faced by the climate crisis.

This city-to-city cooperation initiative between Yokohama and Makati transferred the necessary practical skills to effectively and efficiently manage the response tactics of the first responders of Makati. The training was conducted in both Yokohama and Makati for two years.

CityNet Disaster Cluster seminar is an annual event where members of CityNet disaster cluster gather to review the group's programs and activities and match potential resources with the needs of the participating local governments.

This project is a replication of the previous project conducted by CityNet Yokohama Project Office to train teachers on DRR education and utilization of DRR educational kit. This project targeted rural municipalities in Nepal and was conducted online due to the ongoing pandemic.
