The International Recovery Forum 2021, with the theme, “Building Back Better from Compound Disasters: Practical Cases and Lessons for Recovery from Natural Hazards and COVID-19,” was held online on 22 January 2021.

Attended by 340 live participants in 49 countries, the Forum featured 18 distinguished speakers discussing early lessons learned and opportunities to build back better, greener and more resilient from COVID-19 and compound disasters. Forum discussions tackled the unique challenges and opportunities decision makers face for recovery, while highlighting key lessons for assessment, planning, financing, inclusion, and other key areas. The annual forum is among the main activities managed by the International Recovery Platform (IRP) to share experiences, learning, and evidence to support resilient recovery and building back better.
