Mayor of Sendai City shared the result of its own midterm review at the High-Level Meeting of the Midterm Review of the implementation of the Sendai Framework

Ms. Kazuko Kohri, Mayor of the Sendai City, participated at the Multi-stakeholder Panel 4 “A collective responsibility – Localising DRR, restoring context” held on 19th May 2023, during the High-Level Meeting of the Midterm Review of the implementation of the Sendai Framework at the UN HQ in New York.

Sendai City conducted its own Midterm Review of the implementation of the Sendai Framework in collaboration with Tohoku University.

By presenting a brief summary of the findings of the review, Ms. Kohri shared “as the efforts made so far (by Sendai City) have contributed to the promotion of the Sendai Framework and future direction has been confirmed, further measures will be implemented based on the recognition that DRR is a never-ending task”.

She concluded her statement by saying “Let us collaborate together, and carry forward with the respective initiatives of the Sendai Framework into 2030”.

This Sendai City’s own midterm review of its implementation of the Sendai Framework is one of the voluntary commitments published in the SFVC platform.
