Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance presented their flagship report. The 2021 State of Cities Climate Finance report was produced in partnership with the World Bank Group, Climate Policy Initiative and Adrienne Arsht-Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center of the Atlantic Council. The report provides the most comprehensive snapshot of the state of urban climate finance.
Despite the critical role cities play in ensuring that our climate objectives are met, city governments currently face significant challenges in unlocking the finance required to address the investment gap. The Alliance’s flagship report represents the first effort to build and implement a framework to estimate investment in climate change mitigation as well as adaptation and resilience measures in cities. The second part of the report presents enabling frameworks and solutions for mobilizing urban climate finance at scale.
