Mission

CBi is a private sector driven and UN-supported initiative. Operational and technical support is provided by United Nations Development Programme and United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs while United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction is providing technical advice on disaster risk reduction.

Connecting Business initiative is a demand driven multi-stakeholder initiative transforming the way the private sector engages before, during and after crises to create more resilient communities, increase local capacity and alleviate human suffering. Operational and technical support is provided by United Nations Development Programme and United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs while United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction is providing technical advice on disaster risk reduction.

Voluntary Commitments

The Sendai Framework Commitments (SFVC) online platform serves to incentivize stakeholders to inform the public about their work, to provide a vehicle for sharing commitments and initiatives and for motivation toward the implementation of the Sendai Framework. In turn, UNDRR can monitor and take stock of the progress and impact.

Our goal for the One Billion Coalition for Resilience (1BC) is that by 2025, at least one billion people around the world will have taken active steps to strengthen their resilience.
