Mission

Monash University is an Australian public research university based in Melbourne, Australia.

The University hosts the Monash University Disaster Resilience Initiative (MUDRI) as part of the Accident Research Centre which has been established to harness Monash university-wide expertise with the goal of strengthening community-based disaster resilience. It aims to provide the evidence to shape new approaches to disaster preparedness and management in the context of Council of Australian Governments' National Strategy for Disaster Resilience.

The Sendai Framework Commitments (SFVC) online platform serves to incentivize stakeholders to inform the public about their work, to provide a vehicle for sharing commitments and initiatives and for motivation toward the implementation of the Sendai Framework. In turn, UNDRR can monitor and take stock of the progress and impact.

TRANSFORM: Mapping business models of SMEs for sustainable and resilient communities
This is a regional research initiative to map sustainable and disaster risk reduction practices of SMEs in Mexico and Colombia the project is part of a global network of researchers committed to transforming business models for deeply sustainable, resilient communities.
