Mission
The mission of U-INSPIRE Malaysia is to empower the role of Malaysian youth and young professionals in science, engineering, technology and innovation; to build towards disaster resilience at the national, regional, and global levels.
DRR activities
Key activities of U-INSPIRE Malaysia include:
- DRR Module for Schools under the Ministry of Education in Malaysia.
- DRR-themed School Experiential Learning Programme at SK Janda Baik, Bentong, Pahang.
- DRR-themed Experiential Learning for the Local Youth at IPG Tengku Ampuan Afzan of Kuala Lipis, Pahang.
- Training of Trainers on Geological Disasters Knowledge and Awareness.
- A series of focus group discussions (FGDs) on the country's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) 3.0, focusing on DRR.
- Training of Trainers on OpenStreetMap for Disaster Risk Reduction.
- Submitted U-INSPIRE Malaysia@UKM pledges at UNDRR Sendai Voluntary Commitment.
- 4th Virtual Training Series on Climate Finance.
- Inaugural IPCC Training Session, Kuala Lumpur.
- International Training & Workshop on DRR, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Commitments (SFVC) online platform serves to incentivize stakeholders to inform the public about their work, to provide a vehicle for sharing commitments and initiatives and for motivation toward the implementation of the Sendai Framework. In turn, UNDRR can monitor and take stock of the progress and impact.
