Mission

YFGN's mission is to empower communities by addressing the climate crisis, fostering youth leadership, and enhancing disaster resilience and response.

YFGN's aim to inspire change through innovative programs and initiatives that drive meaningful impact, ensuring that every community member has the tools and opportunities to thrive in a rapidly changing world. 

DRR activities

Youth For Good - Nepal has been actively involved in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) through a range of initiatives. This includes conducting 8 earthquake retrofitting workshops, benefiting 321 individuals and their families, and expanding efforts to teach sustainable building practices. The organization has also raised awareness on disaster preparedness through education sessions. In addition, Youth For Good - Nepal has built  transitional shelters post earthquake and empowered youth to be ambassadors for disaster resilience. During disasters, such as floods, the organization has mobilized volunteers for on-field work, providing immediate relief, evacuating vulnerable communities, setting up emergency shelters, and working with local authorities for effective disaster response.

The Sendai Framework Commitments (SFVC) online platform serves to incentivize stakeholders to inform the public about their work, to provide a vehicle for sharing commitments and initiatives and for motivation toward the implementation of the Sendai Framework. In turn, UNDRR can monitor and take stock of the progress and impact.

Resilient Nepal: Earthquake Retrofitting and Disaster Risk Reduction in Kathmandu
Youth for Good - Nepal conducted retrofitting workshops to enhance earthquake resilience in Nepal, focusing on using sustainable materials. Over 300 participants from Kathmandu district were trained, improving local capacity in disaster risk reduction and structural safety, aligning with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
