Mission

The Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) is charged with managing and coordinating the Queensland Government’s program of infrastructure renewal and recovery within disaster‐affected communities, with a focus on working with our state and local government partners to deliver best practice administration of public reconstruction and resilience funds.

QRA is also the state’s lead agency responsible for disaster recovery, resilience and mitigation policy. In this role, QRA works collaboratively with other agencies and key stakeholders to reduce risk and bolster disaster preparedness.

Voluntary Commitments

The Sendai Framework Commitments (SFVC) online platform serves to incentivize stakeholders to inform the public about their work, to provide a vehicle for sharing commitments and initiatives and for motivation toward the implementation of the Sendai Framework. In turn, UNDRR can monitor and take stock of the progress and impact.

Delivery of Get Ready Queensland 2022-2023 across Queensland
Get Ready Queensland is a year-round, resilience building initiative that delivers an ongoing disaster preparedness awareness campaign and provides $2 million in funding to Queensland’s 77 Local Governments and one Town Authority (Weipa) to support community preparedness for disasters.
