Hong Kong to achieve climate justice through multi-stakeholder dialogues
On 15 December 2022, CarbonCare InnoLab today published the "Hong Kong Justice Transition Report - Building Partnerships to Achieve a Climate-just City," which is the first attempt in Hong Kong to achieve climate justice. It hopes to promote climate justice in all walks of life through dialogue.
Since 2018, CarbonCare InnoLab has held a total of 10 climate community dialogues. Participating civil society organizations have issued a common vision for the future of Hong Kong, demanding climate actions to be just and inclusive. To achieve this vision, the full cooperation of the government, the business sector, and all walks of life are needed. From policy formulation to implementation of measures, all social strata, especially women and disadvantaged groups, should participate together.
Summarizing the results of the 10 climate community dialogues, CarbonCare InnoLab puts forward specific policy recommendations for the seven areas, including physical and mental health, cost of living, access to information, work environment and arrangements, transportation, community amenities and services, and green living, by the three main stakeholders of the society.
