The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2019) featured two Learning Labs sessions for the Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform. The Learning Labs sessions were targeted toward multiple stakeholders (private sector, local governments, civil society organizations, academia, media, etc.) who conduct activities or projects that contribute to the implementation of the Sendai Framework.

The SFVC Learning Labs sessions introduced the SFVC online platform; trained participants on submitting and monitoring voluntary commitments; and shared the analysis of concrete examples, such as requests for clarifications, logical consistency in the description, SMART objectives and deliverables. The methodology was designed to combine short presentations with hands on experience interacting with the SFVC online platform. A special training environment was created for the purpose of allowing stakeholders to use and navigate all the platform’s functions.
