F-8: Number of developing countries supported by international, regional and bilateral initiatives to strengthen their disaster risk reduction-related statistical capacity

Himalayan Risk Research Institute (HRI) is building a platform for DRR young scientists including students, researchers and young professionals. This aims to enhance the skillset, facilitate, promote and build a scientific approach to DRR activities in Nepal.

A Youth and Young Professionals (YYP) initiative to provide a platform for working in Disaster Risk Management (DRM), risk reduction, climate change adaptation (CCA) and other analogous fields to implement the Sendai Framework by applying Science, Engineering, Technology and Innovation (SETI).

The Scientific and Technical Advisory Group (STAG) in line with the Science and Technology Roadmap supported the implementation of the SFDRR. We aimed at fostering stronger partnerships along with clear strategies among the scientific and technology community.

The Sentinel Asia initiative is an international collaboration among space agencies, disaster management agencies, and international agencies for applying remote sensing and Web-GIS technologies to support disaster management in the Asia-Pacific region.
